The 2026 Greater Bay Area Automotive Industry Export Development Conference was held in Guangzhou.

　　The “Reimagining the Ecosystem, Collaborating for Global Expansion” 2026 Greater Bay Area Automotive Industry Export Development Conference and the ceremony marking the departure of Guangzhou Nansha’s 2-millionth vehicle export were recently held in Guangzhou’s Nansha District.

　　This conference is guided by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Guangzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the People’s Government of Nansha District, Guangzhou, and co-organized by the Nansha District Bureau of Commerce of Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Nansha Greater Bay Area Automobile Import and Export Association, and other entities.

　　The conference drew nearly 1,200 participants, bringing together representatives from the Macao Special Administrative Region’s Investment Promotion Agency, Hong Kong’s Asia-Pacific Events Group, Abu Dhabi Ports’ UGR Shipping Company, consulates general of multiple countries in Guangzhou, relevant municipal departments, and leading enterprises in the industry. Together, they discussed new pathways for the global expansion of the Greater Bay Area’s automotive sector and embarked on a new journey toward high‑quality overseas development for China’s auto industry.

　　At the conference, Wang Xiaohua, a first‑level researcher (city‑managed) at the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, pointed out that Guangzhou, one of China’s three major automobile manufacturing hubs, has established a fully integrated automotive industry ecosystem, with auto exports growing for five consecutive years. The city has introduced a series of policies and measures to boost automobile exports, building a comprehensive support framework. Moving forward, Guangzhou will spare no effort to help Nansha District develop into a world‑class, one‑stop hub for cross‑border automotive trade, driving the sector’s transformation from “exporting products” to “bringing in brands, technologies, services, and standards,” while strengthening industrial collaboration among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao and further enhancing the “Greater Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing” brand in the automotive field.

　　Yuan Biao, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone, stated that Nansha is situated at the geographic and geometric center of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, enjoying a distinct locational advantage. The zone has already cultivated an automotive industry cluster exceeding RMB 100 billion in scale and has established a comprehensive container and Ro‑Ro shipping hub system centered on Longxue Island and Shazai Island. Leveraging institutional innovation and supportive policies, Nansha has become a key gateway for Chinese automakers expanding overseas. Anchoring itself firmly as an international cross‑border automotive trade hub, Nansha continues to enhance its logistics infrastructure, industrial ecosystem, and policy framework, providing world‑class services to help global investors deepen their operations and achieve shared prosperity.

　　Chen Jiacai, Deputy General Manager of GAC Group, stated that the company will deepen collaboration with partners in Hong Kong, Macao, and around the world, driving the global expansion of its products, brands, technologies, and industrial chain, while joining forces with peers in the Greater Bay Area to tap into international markets.

　　Ma Jinqi, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., proposed joining forces with Hong Kong and Macao and coordinating with international ports to jointly establish a standardized framework for automobile exports, streamline global logistics channels, and provide world-class port and shipping support for the Bay Area’s automotive export industry.

　　Following the launch ceremony marking the export of 2 million vehicles from Guangzhou Nansha under the “Million‑New Journey, Connecting the World” initiative, a series of high‑profile project signings were held in succession. The first round of agreements focused on fostering synergy within the Greater Bay Area’s automotive industry, as well as on vehicle preparation, testing and certification, and appraisal services, thereby strengthening the end‑to‑end support infrastructure for overseas exports and establishing an efficient, streamlined export‑service ecosystem. The second round of signings encompassed strategic port partnerships, the establishment of industrial platforms, and the upgrading and clustering of related industries, comprehensively energizing the momentum of Guangzhou Nansha’s automotive export sector.

　　In addition, the conference unveiled a newly upgraded edition of the “Automotive Export Handbook,” which consolidates export policies and operational procedures for new vehicles, modified vehicles, and used cars, providing businesses with a one-stop practical guide.
